Soul kept his gaze on his friend for a moment longer, a warm smile on his lips, before he turned to Rainy Night and Boxer. He studied them, noticing how different they looked in size comparison. It really doesn't matter, as long as your contributing in anyway. Anywhere you might find yourself useful should work. he replied, smiling gently at the two felines.

His stomach grumbled loudly and Soul's golden orbs flickered quickly with doubt before once again returning his determined gaze. He had no idea how he was going to hunt or eat. The walk to the meeting had exhausted him and he was in no shape to run or pounce. He wasn't about to go ask someone to hunt for him, it would be selfish. He sat down, his tail drooping slightly as exhaustion took over.

We should start working on a nursery also, so we can keep the kits safe. he declared, the thought of work not sounding so pleasant right now. But he had to help the Soul. This was his new responsibility and he did not want to let them down.

Yes Soul! Yes Soul! Boxer repeated himself stupidly, nodding hugely as he smiled, turning to get off to building a nursery. Soul wants a nursery? I'll build the best he's ever seen!

Rainy Night watched the tom go, not wanting to shake her head or roll her eyes, as she felt a glow of warmth towards the stupid tom. He was dumb, alright, but you had to love his innocence and dedication.

She watched Soul get ready to leave, turning herself to get ready to set out for her own hunting expedition, however, she caught a glimpse of the new leader out of the corner of her eye, and worry clung to her insides. She wanted to go up and help him, but he was the leader, no mere hindrance. She stood for a moment, lost in thought, fighting with herself over what to do. Finally, she dashed to Soul's side.

Do you need any personal help, Soul? I'm no medicine cat, but I at least know poison from pansies.

Soul grinned tiredly as Boxer lumbered off, knowing that he could fully trust the tom. He seemed like a very good soul, a strong body but a gentle heart. Glancing around wearily, he wondered if he could maybe ask Nothing to go out hunting for him or something like that. It was rather embarrassing, asking for help with such a simple thing as hunting. Of course, he hadn't eaten in about five days.

When Rainy Night suddenly appeared at his side, he glanced at her curiously. It's good that you know herbs, he said gently, ignoring her question for a moment. When someone gets sick, we will need someone who knows what they're doing. He paused for a second. I'm not healthy enough to hunt yet. He confessed softly, glancing down at his paws for a moment before looking back up at the she-cat with a sheepish grin. If you could bring me a mouse or anything else, I will be deeply grateful. He said with a small bow of his head.

Rainy Night smiled, glad to have a leader that was down-to-earth. She'd heard elder's tales of horrible tyrannies led by cats with gleaming teeth and inescapable claws. But when she saw Soul, she felt warmth, and though he was weak, she felt comfort.

More than a mouse for Soul! She nodded in respect, then bolted towards the woods, leaving only swaying tall grass and upturned pebbles in her wake.

Boxer nodded, and continued working, smiling as he did so. The Soul! The Soul! The Soul!

Soul smiled gratefully once more before Rainy Night disappeared through the grass. He could hear the steady voice of Boxer close by and his smile became smaller with a tint of sadness. These cats seemed to trust him so well, it brought him joy that they did, but was he really the only one that had brought these group of cats together? He thought of his family, his mate and his daughter, and he wondered if he should go find them. Angel must be a fine she-cat by now, she probably had a family of her own and a loving circle of friends. The life that Soul always wished he had.

If he went and found them, would they willingly come back to the Soul? They probably would, he thought, this was their original home. Or maybe he should just leave them there in the life that they had managed to build up for themselves. They must be happy, Soul prayed that they were happy. Because he could always find someone new, someone who he could love again like he had loved his mate. But he knew of no she-cat that had interest in him, he was just a weak cat who happened to be the leader of the Soul. Well that was a pretty nice title, the whole leader part.

Sighing, he shook his head slightly. Damn the 'drowning' to hell for ruining so many lives.
